Robert M. Wrobel, Chairman of the Board and President
Robert M. Wrobel is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Amalgamated Bank of Chicago. He also serves as the Chairman and President of Amalgamated Investments Company.
In his role, Mr. Wrobel is the Chairman of the Bank’s Trust, Executive Management, Asset and Liability/Product Pricing and Investment Committees. He is also an active member of the Bank’s Employee Benefits Committee.
Mr. Wrobel began his career at Amalgamated Bank of Chicago in 1972 and was appointed President and COO in 1993, President and CEO in 1999, and Chairman and CEO in 2010.
Active in the Chicagoland community, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors for After School Matters. He is also a board member of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith of the Greater Chicago/Wisconsin Regional Office.
Mr. Wrobel received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Northwestern University.
Scott A. Rupp, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Scott A. Rupp is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Amalgamated Bank of Chicago. He also serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Amalgamated Investments Company.
As CFO, Mr. Rupp oversees the Bank’s day-to-day financial accounting and tax matters, including the related financial, regulatory and tax reporting. In addition, he manages the organization’s monitoring of capital, asset/liability, liquidity and insurance risk.
Mr. Rupp also serves as a member of the Executive Management Group, Investment Committee, Asset Liability/Product Pricing Committee and Technology Committee of the Bank.
Prior to joining Amalgamated Bank in 1998, Mr. Rupp spent 23 years at the accounting firm KPMG, where he was a Partner specializing in the taxation of financial institutions and the firm’s Associate National Practice Director for Accounting for Income Taxes.
Mr. Rupp is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology Advisory Board and the Western Illinois University Department of Accountancy Advisory Council.
Mr. Rupp received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Western Illinois University and a Master of Science in Taxation from DePaul University.
James T. Landenberger, Executive Vice President and General Counsel
James T. Landenberger is Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Amalgamated Bank of Chicago, providing legal counsel to the Bank and its officers. He also acts as Corporate Secretary to the Boards of the Bank and its Holding Company.
In his role, Mr. Landenberger manages the provision of legal services to and on behalf of the Bank and Board of Directors and oversees the Compliance and Corporate Trust functions. Mr. Landenberger serves as a member of the Bank’s Senior Executive Management, Trust, Asset & Liability, Compliance, Fair Lending, Loan, Technology, Investment and Employee Benefit Committees.
Mr. Landenberger began his career at Amalgamated Bank of Chicago in 1992. Prior to that, he worked for Mayer Brown.
Mr. Landenberger received a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
Richard J. Wojtecki, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer
Rich Wojtecki is Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of Amalgamated Bank of Chicago.
Mr. Wojtecki is reponsible for oversight of the Bank's commercial and retail loan areas and the provision of banking services to the Bank's commercial, union, and government customers. He serves as Chairman of the Bank's Loan Committee and serves on the Bank's Senior Executive Management, Compliance, Fair Lending, Investment and Asset & Liability Committees.
Mr. Wojtecki has been in banking for 43 years and joined Amalgamated Bank of Chicago in 2006. Mr. Wojtecki has served as Chief Credit Officer for the Bank since 2014.
Mr. Wojtecki received a Bachelor of Science from DePaul University and serves on the faculty of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
